The 9pm dinner
Hey —
Some weeks dinner lands at 9. Practice ran late. The meeting didn’t. You’re not “off track” — you’re late, hungry, and deciding under fluorescent light.
On a late night, the useful move isn’t a perfect earlier meal you didn’t have. It’s a floor for the plate you can still make, then one log if the app still feels possible.
opening the app once for that late plate still counts — you don’t owe a full day of entries.
log the meal you had; keep your targets. No catch-up math at 9:40.
Plate shape (ideas only)
Same structure we use on loud days — not amounts from us:
- Protein you can get fast (leftovers, eggs, deli, yogurt, whatever’s already there)
- Produce (bagged greens, fruit, frozen veg — count what you can actually chew)
- A carb you already use (toast, rice, tortilla, crackers)
Heat what you have. Skip the blank-page “what should I cook.”
Log without the spiral
The spiral: late dinner → ruined day → skip the app → new plan Monday. The close: late dinner → run the shape → log the meal once if you can → done.
Opening the app once still counts as macros awareness. You don’t owe a full day of entries for one late plate.
A walk after dinner still counts as movement. It isn’t a strength session — and you don’t need a make-up lift at 10pm.
This week’s action: Write one late-dinner floor line (protein · produce · carb). Next time dinner hits 9, run that line — then stop. No punishment breakfast.
